Upon receiving your application, Human Resources will review based on the position that you applied for and are qualified for.
If you are selected for an interview, you will be notified. If you are not selected, you will not be notified. Please understand that there are many applications received for each position. Only the top two or three applicants are selected and interviewed.
Q. What happens to my application after it’s submitted to Human Resources?
A. All applications are reviewed by Human Resources, and the best-qualified applicants for the open positions will be contacted for an initial interview.
Q. Can I apply for more than one open position?
A. Yes, you may apply for up to 6 positions at a time. Keep in mind to review the position details closely. Can you accept the position status (full-time, part-time, relief/PRN)? Can you work the shift required of the position? Do you possess the qualifications the position requires?
Q. What if I want to apply for a position that is not listed?
A. Only positions that are available are listed on the website. If a position is not listed that means we currently have no openings for that position. BSA only accepts applications for open positions.
Q. How long will it take to get a response? How Should I follow up on the status of my application?
A. Because the applicant pool for each open position at BSA Health System is unique, response time frames vary. Human Resources will review the applications and promptly set-up interviews for the most qualified applicants. If you are selected for an interview, you will be notified. If you are not selected, you will not be notified. If you are not selected for a particular position, we recommend you continue searching for similar opportunities at BSA.
Q. How can I check the status of my application?
A. You may check the status of your application by going to the BSA website (www.bsahs.org) and logging into your application account. Under application history, it will tell you whether you are being considered or not.
Q. Can I contact the department to which I am applying to turn in my application or to check on the status of my application?
A. No. Every applicant must apply through the Human Resources Department.
Q. Could a criminal history or background affect my ability to be hired at BSA?
A. BSA conducts criminal background checks on all prospective employees. BSA will determine your employability on a case-by-case basis while considering your background in relation to the job you are seeking.
Q. I have applied for an open position and was not selected. If I want to apply for another opening, do I need to complete a new application?
A. Yes, your application is only tied to the specific job you applied for and you must submit a new application for a different position in order to be considered. By using the copy feature of the application system, you can copy over your previous application to a new application form.
Q. My goal is to be in the medical field, but I don’t have any clinical experience. What should I do?
A. Continue to watch the job postings on a weekly basis. BSA posts new openings every day. Apply for the position that will match your present skills and schedule. If hired, multiple opportunities exist at BSA to help you achieve your career goals.
Q. What prevents my application from being sent to the department I requested?
A. If your applications are incomplete, they will not be considered. Did you complete an online survey that is required after you complete the online application? Did you fill in all the information including dates of hire and separation and telephone numbers of previous employers? Did your shift availability match that of the open position? HR will only send the applications that will be able to meet the shift requirements of the position. BSA is seeking applicants that have a good solid work history with qualifications they can build on to become a part of the BSA team. BSA practices tobacco-free hiring.
